  • Measure your existing floor

This step is majorly important if you are having carpet on the floor which is to be replaced with vinyl. Vinyl flooring can be installed on any surface as long as it is flat, smooth, dry or rigid. Remove the old floor from its threshold strips and trim out towards the doorways. The next step is bit tedious but is very essential. You have to work along the subfloor and pull out or staple in any of the nails which are not driven below properly below the floor surface. After 2 to 3 days put up the under layer in its original position, so that it can fit the wood properly.

However on the other hand, if you are choose to install vinyl tiles in your home, and then there is certain specified patter for the installation which should be followed.
