Concrete flooring though seems advantageous but it has lot of enemies. It is the water which is the biggest enemy of concrete. No doubt that water acts as a hydrating solution to the concrete part of the cement and also in retaining the moisture content. When water gets frozen the surface of the flooring of concrete may spall off. Solutions which are harmful are carried by it. There are many types of coatings which help the concrete floor.

Coating based on the base of cement is porous and works for damp proofing. Oil of linseed and treatment by silicones is during winter the flooring gets damaged and it is sprayed which helps in posing a barrier of the water. Coatings of bituminous material, compounds of metallic elements, hardeners of the surface and coatings based on plastic cements are used for protection of the concrete floor.

There are two ways by which you can protect the flooring- temporary based and permanent based. For latent damages and projects of remediation concrete slabs are used which acts as sheets of protection of slabs. Light construction can be expensive on the coloured floors which can be decorative. Hence if the liquid gets spilled or due to the impact of light the concrete floor can be damaged. Therefore a guard should be used which should ne of non-woven material, a natural polypropylene which should be coloured. Some of the guards are available in rolls of various sizes. The guards can be installed without much effort with sealing on the edges effectively.

Guard of the decorative variant – for protecting the floor of the interior a decorative guard works best since it acts against the grease and stains of beverages and other materials. The dirt which gets build up is shown easily and is easy to maintain. It is a great penetrator with repellent of the water. The surface gets a waxy and glossy effect. It does not become yellow like the pages of the book over time as it is UV resistant. After its application a coating of wear has to be applied.

The method of sealing – stain on the floor is common and permanent but does not flake off with the paint. A sealer used on the outdoor surface should be used which is a clear seal protector and in the inside a wax of the floor is to be used. If the sealer is good there are other advantages as well which should be befitting. The surface will have sheen along with intensity of the colour enhancer.

Types of sealers which should be applied – sealer based on acrylic has UV resistant layer, you can apply it as many times as possible and is affordable. Sealers based on urethane are expensive and are not resistant to UV. Sealers based on epoxy works on the countertops. There are some tips of maintenance which you have to incorporate- cleaning the surface with a pH cleaner neutral based, reapplying the coating on yearly basis and application of the sealers every two years.
