Are you planning to have cork parquet flooring in your home and wondering how to install it yourself? Below are given some helpful tips.
Firstly, prepare a good sub floor for the tiles. Make sure it is leveled and clean. If there are spots on the flooring fill them with sand. Then give the sub floor a fine primer coat. Let it dry for minimum forty minutes. It would be better if your primer is especially for cork flooring. In the next step lay adhesive on the primer. Go for 50sq.ft at one go. Apply a coat uniformly make sure it is thin, because too much of it would create lumps. Avoid stepping over it and after drying install the tiles within one hour. Leave them as it is for minimum 72 hours.
Then roll the tiles numerous times from different directions with a 100 pound roller and repeat it after 12 hours. Next, leave the floor as it is and do not walk on it for the next 24 hours.
